Michael Wells Stillman - Pueblo Chieftain - March 06, 2004 - Michael Wells Stillman, born Nov. 8, 1942, passed away March 1, 2004. Preceded in death by his parents, T. Zinn and Doris Stillman. Survived by his wife, Kay; his son, Ken, and daughter-in-law, Dana; brother, Tom, and his wife, Josephine; and niece, Karen Mason; brother-in-law, John and Kate Cooper; niece, Carrie; and nephew, Jack Cooper. Michael joined Luria Brothers in 1966 and then became vice-president of the Western U.S. area in 1975. He opened the National Material Trading Office in 1989 and later the Progress Rail Office in 1994. During the upheaval and changes in the scrap trading industry, Mike was able to keep all of his employees in Pueblo and was adamant about not moving his office or his employees out of Pueblo. Michael joined the First National Bank - Colorado in 2002, and served on the Minnequa Bank Board of Directors. He also served on the Pueblo Water Board of Water Works from January 1980 to March 1, 2004. Mike was a member of the Pueblo Rotary Club No. 43 since 1979. He supported the Pueblo Zoo, and was very active in the Pueblo County GOP Party as well as the state-level GOP Party. Mike always had been a strong supporter of the community of Pueblo. Memorial service, 11 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2004, Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pueblo Zoological Society in care of the funeral home office." (from (
