The Radford Theater was built in 1935 and is still a popular attraction for college students and long time residents alike. In 2008 the theater under went a significant renovation which included restoring the marque, 531 new seats and upgrades to the concession stand, floors, ceiling and restrooms. The theater also still has weekend matinee's and the tickets at a very reasonable $5 and $6 dollars. It is one of the last of the single screen theaters in Virginia showing first run movies.
