Built well off Main Street, the original building on this site was spared from the great fire of 1914, yet burned down in 1972. Replaced in 1975 by an architecturally sympathetic building, it became the home of the Didsbury Review in the early 1990s.

The Didsbury Review
Despite its historic appearance, this building is not the first to stand on the site. The original building was a two-story structure that ran east to the alley. This structure was destroyed by fire on March 8, 1972 and for safety reasons, the remaining shell was condemned and demolished. In 1975, the present building was erected and accommodated several service businesses including the Town Office for a short period. Didsbury's original weekly newspaper, the Pioneer, began publishing in February 1903 at another location with G.E. Grow as its first editor. This original newspaper office burned down in the fire of 1914. History repeated itself when the second office suffered the same fate in 1940. In the early 1990s the present local newspaper, the Didsbury Review, began publishing from this location.
