Sutton Hoo is the site of two 6th and early 7th century cemeteries. One contained an undisturbed ship burial, including Anglo-Saxon artefacts of great archaeological significance, most of which are now in the British Museum in London.
The Sutton Hoo Helmet is one of the most important Anglo Saxon finds of all time. It was buried in the grave of a warrior chieftain. Alongside it were a vast array of weaponry and a 27-metre-long ship.
