The Lock Team sculpture honor mule drives and their mules. It is located across the street from the Erie Canal Weighlock Building at 318 Erie Boulevard East in Syracuse, NY.

A life-size bronze sculpture depicts a young boy standing next to a mule. The boy is wearing overalls and a hat. He is holding the reins of a mule. A harness spreading bar is hanging behind the mule's rear feet.
The sculpture was created by Tom Tischler and cast at the Kasson's Castings foundry. It was dedicated on October 11, 1987 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Erie Canal Museum.
A nearby sign tells the story of the monument.

You are standing across from the Weighlock Building on the towpath of the canal where mule drivers and the mules that pulled the canal boats once trod.
The monument in honor of the mule and their drivers who worked tirelessly on the canal towpath was dedicated in 1987 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Erie Canal Museum. it was made possible with gifts from the Gifford Foundation, the National Heritage Trust of New York State and the City of Syracuse.
