The Hidalgo County Veterans Memorial as dedicated on 9 Dec 1989 in front of the arge modern block courthouse in downtown Edinburg. It lists all the men and women of Hidalgo county who have served and died in the Armed forces of the United States. A separate space on the right column of the memorial holds the names of three Medal of Honor recipients from Hidalgo County.
