The Cessnock Hotel is the oldest Hotel in the area. The current building was built in 1908, over an earlier inn that served as a rest stop for the miners of the area. Part of the original bar can still be seen inside.

The hotel was bought by the current owners in 2014, and their aim is to bring back some of the glory and feel of the old heritage style of the hotel.
