The plaque reads:

The Legend of Lucky

Lucky was a saddle-form paper mache horse
that was swept away in Pueblo's historic
1921 flood and was later found in a tree in
Avondale (15 miles away) unharmed. Lucky
now resides in the Southeastern Colorado
Heritage Museum in Pueblo. The mural
depicts some of the actual saddles made
by Fraizer Saddlery Company which operated
out of this building. The Arkansas River and
the mountains are shown on the left side of
the mural. The center of the mural depicts
the 1921 flood of the Arkansas River and some
of the historic buildings being destroyed. The
right side of the mural shows Lucky being
found in a tree. The foreground depicts the
happy ending for Lucky and the City of Pueblo.
