EN: The train station of Schönenwerd is located west of the old village center near the Aare bridge to Niedergösgen.
The train station is on the route Olten-Aarau, which was opened in 1856. But the current station building is from the mid-20th century; a concrete and brick building with a flat roof, mostly one-storey with an upper floor in the middle section.
The regional connection S23 between Baden and Langenthal runs once an hour, additionally there are different bus connenctions.
The track is one of the busiest in Switzerland and mostly four lanes, only in Schönenwerd there are still two tracks that can not be expanded due to the dense building development. Therefore, a bypass tunnel in under construction since spring 2015, it will go into operation by 2020.
DE: Der Bahnhof von Schönenwerd befindet sich westlich des alten Dorfkerns in der Nähe der Aarebrücke nach Niedergösgen.
Der Bahnhof liegt an der Strecke Olten-Aarau, die 1856 eröffnet wurde. Das heutige Stationsgebäude ist aber aus der Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts; ein Beton- und Backsteingebäude mit Flachdach, grossteils einstöckig mit einem Obergeschoss in Mittelbereich.
Die Regionalverbindung S23 zwischen Baden und Langenthal verkehrt einmal stündlich, dazu kommen noch verschieden Busverbindungen.
Die Strecke ist eine der meist befahrenen der Schweiz und grossteils vierspurig, nur in Schönenwerd sind es zwei Spuren, die auf grund der dichten Bebauung nicht erweitert werden können. Deshalb wird seit Frühling 2015 an einem Umfahrungstunnel gebaut, der um 2020 in Betrieb gehen soll.
