2-1/2" brass cap on a galvanized iron pipe in a collar of stones; rising 6".

Start from the Bear Valley Trailhead which is generally NNW, by road 23 miles distant from the Sisters Ranger Station. Hike 3.4 miles up the Rockpile Lake Trail #4005 to the angle point on the left, about 470' S. There are two U-posts, both with NATIONAL FOREST WILDERNESS signs and one also with a LAND SURVEY MONUMENT sign. In addition, there are two reference monuments, 2" aluminum caps mounted on 5/8" rebar.
