From pool room to grocery store seems quite a leap. No matter, it's right beside what was once the major entertainment centre in Blairmore, the Orpheum Theatre, allowing one to go straight from work to the movies.

Scott's Grocery
This lot was purchased by B. Seyan in 1920 who promptly had this two-storey brick building constructed by Fernie contractors Todd and Nelson. Originally a poolroom, the main floor was rented to Walter Scott for his grocery store from 1921 to 1927. John Kubik bought the building in 1925 and replaced Scott's Grocery with his own grocery and butcher shop two years later. The business was purchased by brothers Joe and John Dobek in 1950 and renamed Dobek's Fine Foods and Meats.
