Keflavik International Airport - Keflavik, Iceland - Airports on Waymarking.com

This airport was originally built by the US Americans during the Second World War. This made the nearby village of Keflavik grow to a proper town, which has been suffering for social and economics issues since the US military shut down the facilities in 2006, handing over the military area of the airport to Iceland.

It's actually the only truly international airport and it's served by buses which transport the passengers to Reykjavik, about 50 km far..
