Kashinozaki Lighthous is located on the island of Kii Oshima. It was one of the lighthouses designed by Richard Henry Brunton, who was hired by the government of Japan in the Meiji period to help construct lighthouses in Japan for foreign vessels.

"This lighthouse was first enlighted in June, 1870 (Meiji 3). It's the oldest made of stone as a flash lighthouse in Japan. Rechard Hennry Buranton, an English engineer was the director and made the plan. Narcissus around the lighthouse were brought to Japan from England by the English engineers and planted to enjoy them."
