The Desert Awareness Park is dedicated to educating the public to the nature of the area in which they live. It is located in a wash in the town of Cave Creek. Highlighted are the many plants and the wildlife found in the park and the history and prehistory of the area. For those who may be too young to appreciate the natural setting there is also a playground. There are shade structures and restroom facilities available as well as picnic ramadas.
