Mark Sartoris
A building was erected on this corner in 1911 for Prayer and Murphy liquor wholesalers; a cold room was soon added for storing beer for the Calgary Brewing Company. In 1916 Mark Sartoris leased and later bought the building for his Chinook Parlors confectionery, and in 1928 sold groceries under the Red and White franchise.

In 1921 Sartoris moved an adjacent wood building to the back of the lot and built a new brick addition for his Blairmore Wholesale Co. Two years later grocery wholesalers Plunkett and Savage bought the company and its location, and in 1942 took over the entire building to the corner. Sartoris had opened a soft-drink bottling plant behind the main building in 1938 which ran until the 1960s.

The old buildings at the back are now part of the present structure.
