This water pump was used by the teachers and children of Toimi School when classes were held here from 1913 until 1942. It is no longer pumping water but has been preserved within a new pump house as part of the historical school exhibit. A sign reads:

“The original pump house was a six sided, cedar shake roof with the hand pump in the center of the floor. Built in 1913 the pump house was used to provide water to the school. The water was pumped, by hand, and carried by bucket to the school.”
