Fornos Romanos da Herdade do Pinheiro - Alcácer do Sal

Conjunto de cinco fornos, dois deles são contíguos, muito bem construídos com adobes e tijolos cerâmicos e apresentando uma fachada de pedra. A maior parte dos arcos ainda se conserva, bem como alguns vestígios da grelha, constituindo até à data os fornos romanos melhor preservados de Portugal.

Este centro de fabrico funcionou do século I ao século V, tendo fabricado os seguintes tipos de ânfora: Dressel 14b (século I – século II), Almagro 51c antiga (século III), Almagro 51c tardia, Almagro 51 a/b e, pelo menos, mais uma forma que não consta das tipologias conhecidas.

Para além das ânforas o centro produziu telha, tijolo e cerâmicas comuns. O Sítio relacionável também com actividade portuária: escoamento por via fluvial.

Set of five ovens, two of them are contiguous , well built with adobes and ceramic brick and featuring a stone facade . Most arcs still preserved and some traces of the grid constituting the hitherto best preserved Roman ovens Portugal.

This manufacturing center ran from the first century to the fifth century, having manufactured the following types of amphora : Dressel 14b (first century - century) , old Almagro 51c ( third century ) , late 51c Almagro , Almagro 51 a / b , at least plus a way that is not in the known types .

Apart from the amphorae produced the center tile , brick and ceramics common . The site also relatable to port activity : flow by river.
