Díky pusobení bratrí Aloise a Viléma se obec Diváky stala jedním z center kulturního života na Morave. Roku 1893 zde založili knihovnu, jezdili sem i mnozí ceští a moravští umelci, vcetne Leoše Janácka ci Jaroslava Kvapila, prátelské styky udržovali též s Jožou Úprkou, Josefem Merhautem, Františkem Pacinkou.
V roce 1896 podnikl cestu do Ruska. Již za studií si oblíbil francouzský naturalismus (Emil Zola) a ruskou realistickou literaturu (Dostojevský, Tolstoj), ruskou literaturu také prekládal.

Thanks to the action of the brothers Wilhelm and Alois community audience became one of the centers of cultural life in Moravia. 1893 founded a library, drove here and many Czech and Moravian artists, including Leos Janacek and Jaroslav Kvapil, also maintained friendly relations with Jozo Úprka, Joseph Merhaut, Francis Pacinkou.
