Crystal Arena
Sporting activities have always been important to Canadian towns, and Coleman was no exception. Between 1905 and the 1950s Coleman was famed for its hockey teams that contested regional and national championships and which sent several players to the National Hockey League.

Erected in 1922, the Crystal Arena was one of the largest indoor ice arenas in Alberta at the time, and a proud accomplishment for this small town. The arena name arose from a school contest; the five dollar prize went to student Lawrence Johnston.

The Crystal Arena was closed and sold after a new sports complex opened in the 1980s.
