Visiting the Erickson Aircraft Collection is a feast for the eyes for the aircraft enthusiast. This large collection includes WWII vintage aircraft, a few being very rare. Most aircraft in this large hanger are airworthy and visitors can spend hundreds of dollars to get a 20 to 30-minute ride in a few designated aircraft. Among the collection of planes include a P-38 Lightning, a B-17 Flying Fortress, p-51 Mustang, Grumman Duck, F4U Corsair, P-47D Thunderbolt, T-6 Texan, Douglas DC-3, Nakajima KI-43 (Oscar), PT-17 Stearman, Bellanca Aircruiser, B-25 Mitchell, PBY 5A Catalina, P2V-7 Neptune, Focke-Wulf 190, L-29 Delphin, FM-2 Wildcat, TBM Avenger, A-26 Invader, PV-2 Harpoon, Skyraider, SBD Dauntless and a P-39 Airacobra. This collection was previously housed at the Tillamook Airport until 2014 when the collection relocated to Madras.
The Erickson Collection is located at the Madras Municipal Airport on NW Berg Drive. To get to the hangar, take the NW Cherry Lane exit just off highway 26 and turn right on NW Berg. If you are navigating to the museum using Google Maps or other mapping services, just type in "Madras Municipal Airport" and follow NW Berg all the way down. In most cases, NW Airport Way has yet to be changed to NW Berg.
