Maison Laurent-Guilbault was built in 1835, according to the informations found in the official contracts. It was built along the Rivière-des-Prairies. A stone house, it was the farm house for the Guilbault family.

There is an historical plaque where is written the following text :

"Cette maison de pierre est mentionnée pour la première fois dans le contrat de vente de Laurent Guilbault à Joseph Guilbault intervenu en 1858. L'acte de donation de Madame Guilbault à ses fils Laurent, Joseph et Séraphin en 1852, parlait d'une simple maison sans mentionner qu'elle était en pierre.

Il est donc vraisemblable que l'actuelle maison ait été construite vers 1835, très probablement peu de temps après que Laurent a obtenu sa part de la terre familiale. Selon l'atlas de Henry W. Hopkins en 1879, pas moins de sept Guilbaule possédaient alors des terres dans la paroisse du Sault-au-Récollet, toutes situées dans la partie Nord-Est."
