This old milestone located at the road side near the Roman Catholic church of Weil am Rhein.
It's a small side road in a residential zone today, but it looks that is was the main road some decades ago.
The milestone states the distances to Lörrach (6.5 km) and Müllheim (31 km). The latter cannot be read anymore, but Müllheim is the only larger town in about that distance that fits the still readable letters.
The stone is not dated. Maybe late 19th or early 20th century; not before 1872, because then it would be miles instead of kilometers.
