These mammoths are in BIG trouble. The sculpture was put into the La Brea Tar Pits to imitate what it would look like thousands of years ago when Columbian Mammoths actually got stuck in the tar and died. This sculpture and waymark is for the four mammoths inside the enclosure of the pits, which are all listed under the same listing on the Smithsonian website.
