Located on the south part of Burr-Field is a defunct drinking fountain that contains a plaque in front that reads:
BURR-FIELD
IN MEMORY OF BILL BURR
1963
The only online info I could find on Bill Burr was a mention of him in the Bend Bulletin newspaper in 1962 which notes that a new HS football coach for the Culver Bulldogs would take over the reigns from Bill Burr because he was in poor health. Burr obviously passed away not long after and this drinking fountain and football field were named in his memory in 1963.
