Nowra Indigenous artist Noel Wellington carved this & the other totems with help from members of the Jerrinja Local Aboriginal Land Council. The totems are carved from blackbutt, woolybutt or ironbark logs. They represent the stories, elders and culture of the local Aboriginal people who have long had a strong connection with the sea.

The totems are positioned near the mouth of the Crookhaven River & have views of landscapes sacred to Aboriginal people.

This totem has a variety of fish carved into the wood. A clear coating protects against the marine environment.

Information about the totems was obtained from the newspaper - South Coast Register (visit link)
