A memorial for the fights for liberation in 1944 near the sports stadium of Saint-Louis.

This war memorial is located in a street corner near the sports stadium of Saint-Louis. It is made of two blocks of red sandstone, one with the engraved silhouettes of human heads and two bronze plates.
The text on the plates:
"La Ville de Saint-Louis, la Compagnie des FFI, Forces Françaises de l'Intérieur de Saint-Louis, en hommage à leurs morts dans les combats du 20 novembre au 1er décembre 1944 pour la libération.
D'ici sont partis vers le Rhin le matin du 30 novembre 1944, avec leurs camarades, ceux qui ont sacrifié leur vie pour la libération de notre région frontalière."
Translation:
"The City of St. Louis, the IFF Company, French Forces of the Interior of St. Louis, in honor of their dead in the battles from 20 November to 1 December 1944 for the liberation.
From here, on the morning of November 30, 1944 they went to the Rhine with their fellow soldiers, those who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of our border region."
