The marker is located inside the visitor center of the Crystal Cove State Park, located a few miles away from the actual crystal cove historic district.
The plaque says, "The early to mid-tentieth century cottages in this last self-contained southern california beachfront recreational community reflect a unique vernacular architectural design emblematic of "architect without architects".
