This time capsule is located in the base of a glass fronted case containing an early design for the Great Seal of Canada. A worn metal plaque explains.
Transcript:

The early design for the Great Seal of Canada
was displayed above the door of the old Intercolonial Offices
which stood to the east of this site
from 1883 until their demolition in 1962.
The design, never officially adopted, was used by the
ICR and other government agencies following confederation.
The shield was installed here at the opening of
the new CN Terminal building, October 10, 1962.

Mr. Donald Gordon, CMC, ILD, Chairman and President
of Canadian National Railways,
sealed a time capsule containing memorabilia of the day in the base.
It will be removed and opened October 19, 2062.
