Saint Joseph parish, on the corner of West 24th and Sassafras Streets in Erie, PA, was founded in 1867 by German residents in Erie. Construction on the church building was begun in 1882, the architect being Patrick Keely. Today St. Joseph's is still a very active parish and is known for its perpetual adoration chapel where anyone can pray before the Blessed Sacrament day or night.
