Built in 1901, it was to be a bank handling foreign exchange for Italian immigrants, but it became the Arcade Hotel.

"Arcade Building, (Arcade European Hotel--1904-1905). Three-story red brick with four store fronts; original use as tavern, hotel, cigar store, and restaurant; boxed cornice with brackets; frieze; decorative cement work; and stone lintels." (from the NRHD form)
