Resistance Lines' North East Netherlands.
O-line.
This line runs close behind the border through the channels. The route is of the Haandrik (SW of Coevorden) via New Amsterdam, Klazienaveen, Barger- and Emmercompascuum, Ter Apel, Vlagtwedde, Veelerveen, Nieuweschans to the Dollard and to Termunten where it joined the K-line.
The bridges along this line had to be destroyed after crossing border (inflated). A German advance would be delayed by giving at any level of resistance, this were in strategic locations setups where made under concrete casemates for light and heavy machine guns. This line consisted of small border detachments, often in strength of an infantry group (11 men) who had to raise the alarm in an attack and had to move over to the Q-line.
