The plaque is located next to the bridge over the man-made lake in Minnawarra Park and reads thus :-

"MINNAWARRA PARK
A northw-west Aboriginal word meaning 'a while'.. the site of the historic property 'Brookside' originally owned by the Jull family. In 1912 Warden Lambden Owen purchased the property renaming it 'Minnawarra'. This area now forms the heart of the City's Civic and Cultural Precinct. This land was acquired by the Council on 10 Oct 1958"
