Frieze art runs the entire perimeter of the Institut d'art et d'archéologie in Paris.

The Institute of Art and Archaeology, also called the Michelet Centre, is a building in Paris' 6th arrondissement. Currently it houses the faculties of history art at University of Paris I and Paris IV. It was designed by architect Paul Bigot between 1925 and 1928. Since 9 September 1996 it has been classified as an historical monument.

The artwork is a continuous terracotta frieze featuring copies of famous sculpture from the ancient-Greek to the Renaissance eras, including reliefs from the Parthenon, and figures from the facades of Reims and Senlis cathedrals.

L'Institut d'art et d'archéologie, dit aussi Centre Michelet, est un bâtiment du 6e arrondissement de Paris, situé au 6, avenue de l'Observatoire et au 3, rue Michelet, abritant actuellement les facultés d'histoire de l'art des universités Paris I et Paris IV. Il a été conçu par l'architecte Paul Bigot entre 1925 et 1928. Il est depuis le 9 septembre 1996 classé aux monuments historiques.
