"The Swan Tavern, with kitche, smokehouse, and stable in the yard, is a frame building wih dormers on the gabled roof, which has hipped ends." Virginia: a Guide to the Old Dominion, Oxford University Press, 1941 The tavern today is mainly closed off to the public to help preserve it for future generations. An added historical marker was placed to the south of the building and parking is limited.
