This granite memorial is about twelve feet high. A four sided pillar rises high above the head, to a horizontal heptagon slab engraved with the name of the 7 Clans of the Cherokee. At the top is an abstract stainless steel flame.

On the four sides of the pillar are engraved the names of leaders of the Cherokee Nation in the past, listed under titles of their positions:
Chief Justices
Superintendent of Schools
Primary Chiefs
Trail of Tears Conductors
Editors
Attorneys
Constitutional Convention
Ministers
High Sheriffs
Other Prominent Leaders

A slab at the base of the pillar reads: "Memorial to The Cherokees before 1907 / These few represent some of the early leaders who saw a need and met the challenge./ Dedicated Sept. 6, 1975 / The 7 Clans are around the top."

A second slab reads: "This memorial given by James W. and Maxine Tyner / Boyce and Alice Timmons / Designed by James W. Tyner"
Location: Cherokee National Museum
