This stunning piece works with H2O (water) it its three naturally occurring states. The building was locked for the summer, so I could not get the rest of the piece.

The plaque reads:

PHASE PATHWAY: H2O 2000
ARTIST: LAURA AUDREY Indian Hills, CO

'Phase Pathway H2O' represents the transition of H2O from solid (the granite and sandstone wall on the east side of the building) through liquid (the outer area of the lobby's terrazzo floor) to gas (the center of the floor). The entire work is a metaphor for the dynamic nature of education.

Commissioned for the University of SOuthern Colorado Chemistry Building and the citizens of Colorado under the state public art program administered by the Colorado Council on the Arts.
