The house was donated in 1977 to the Newark Valley Historical Society as a living museum. It is furnished as it was in the early 1800s. Additional structures have been moved to the site, a reconstructed blacksmith shop, a threshing barn, a wood shop, a carriage shed and a Welcome Center, where classes are held in skills such as basket weaving.

Picnics, reunions and weddings can be scheduled on site.

The gift shop is in the old summer kitchen. It has pottery, old fashion candy, candles, baskets, tin punched items, notecards.

There is an Apple Festival held here in the fall.
