Mouflon are the smallest wild sheep and come from Sardinia and Corsica. The Wild sheep introduced into National Park De Hoge Veluwe around 1921 by Anton Kröller. At this moment there are still about 200 Moeflon in this park. The Wild sheep eat the grass that grows among the heather plants. If they do not do this then the heather grows close with grass and trees.
The males (Rams) have large twisted horns, which are longer and rounder as they get older. Some females also receive horns but are much smaller. Mouflon do not change their horns.
