Hornindalvanet is Norway's and Europe,s deepest lake, officially measured to a depth of 514 meters( 1665 feet ). Its surface is 53 meters ( 171 feet ) above sea level, which weans that its bottom is 461 meters ( 1494 feet ) below sea level.
Hornindalsvanet is surrounded by mountain glaciers and fjords which were created during the last ice age. The water in the lake is pure and clean coming mainly from the melted snow.
The activities that are available are numerous and include but not limited to:

boating
swimming
canoeing
water skiing
camping
horseback riding
biking
hiking
