Located in front of Little Shasta Church is a granite monument that is dedicated to the pioneers of Little Shasta Velley as well as highlighting the history of this old church. It reads:
Dedicated to the memory of the Pioneers of Little Shasta Valley who raised this House to the Glory of God.On March 5, 1876 The Little Shasta Congregational Church was formed. It was in 1877 that the first subscriptions were taken for the present building. One year later on July 28, 1878 the church construction was completed and the dedication took place. This old church is one of the few remaining structures in the community of Little Shasta. There is an elementary school across the road and a cemetery about a mile east of this church, but other than about a half dozen residents along this stretch of road, this community is very small. The nearest township with a post office is Montague, a few miles to the west.
