Stuart Town was a former gold mining centre in the nineteenth century & had a population of over 6000. Today it has a population of less than 500 & relies on wool & sheep with travellers stopping over on their way to Lake Burrendong for fishing & skiing.

Moxon Park occupies land once the site of Moxon's Cottages constructed of recycled bricks in 1895. There was a bakery, a blacksmith's, a butchery, a barber & a general store. The buildings were abandoned in the 1970's & demolished in 1976.

It now offers respite from the intense heat of Summer & has an amenities block. You need to park on the side of the street.
