The old travel guide briefly mentions this location in:
DESTIN (25 pop.), an old and well-known fishing resort, occupies a narrow strip of land between Gulf and CHOCTAWHATCHEE BAY.
--- From Florida: A Guide to the Southernmost State, 1939
The bay is now part of the Intercostal Waterway. Fed by the river of same name, it discharges into the Gulf of Mexico. Roughly 30 miles long with 4-6 miles width across. The bay is fished for cobia, Spanish mackerel, redfish, spotted seatrout, and sheepshead. (License required.) At the bottom, multiple wrecks of ships, barges, and aircraft can be observed.
Pictures taken from marina docks on west end of Destin. Any location which looks into the bay would be great - just provide coordinates for the photo.
