The County is the easternmost of all counties in Ontario. It is bordered by the Province of Quebec to the north and east, United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry to the south and City of Ottawa to the west. Council also elects a Warden on an annual basis. As Head of Counties Council, the Warden conducts the Council meetings, sits on committees, and represents the Counties at any meetings or official functions.
The eight local municipalities that send their Mayor to the Counties table are: Township of Alfred and Plantagenet, Village of Casselman, Township of Champlain, City of Clarence-Rockland, Township of East Hawkesbury, Town of Hawkesbury, Township of Russell, and The Nation Municipality.
