Arthur G. Pomeroy was a wealthy tobacco leaf grower from nearby Suffield, CT, north of Hartford. He built this Queen Anne - High Victorian Gothic house built in 1882. The house was rehabilitated for offices in the 1980's.

The Arthur G. Pomeroy House is an ornate 1882 townhouse. The two-story brick house has a distinctive roofline. Two tall, pitched-roof gable blocks project from the south wall and along the facade at the northwest corner. A conical, "candle-snuffer shaped" roof, is corbelled out above the front porch.

The rectangular sash windows are set within arches made of brick. The first floor has an L-shaped front porch, with its turned-wood posts, brackets, and shallow gable. The elaborate second-story windows in the projecting gables have an elaborately carved wood post that divides the paired windows. Above is a cornice-like band of masonry ornament of saw-toothed brick course-work set between flat strips of limestone.
