Gilbert Fire & Rescue No. 7 replaces an older fire station two miles to the north. This move will cut response times in the area by two minutes and lessen dependence on neighboring communities' departments. Sleeping quarters are located on the ground floor eliminating the need for a pole. The station has a state of the art exercise facility and uses solar panels for power generation. There is a centrally located display board in the engine room that shows elapsed time since a call has been received.
