The church is situated on a steep hill overlooking Rockley. Made of red bricks its bell tower is topped by a tall metal spire. It was designed by architect Edward Gell in Victorian Gothic style. He was influenced in the design by early settlers, the Steel Family who were major benefactors in its construction.
