Rockley is a charming 19th century village which has retained many of its historical buildings. It is listed by the National Trust as an Historic Village.

The plaque was unveiled by the then Governor of New South Wales, Sir Rodney Cutler, a recipient of Australia's highest military award - the Victoria Cross.

The plaque is worded:

Unveiled on 20th March 1976 to commemorate he 125th Anniversary of Rockley by his Excellency the Governor of New South Wales Sir Roden Cutler V.C. K.C.M.G. K.C.V.O. C.B.E.
