This standard issue zinc monument has a crude, stone base on which it sits, along with an old headstone holder to help prop it up, although it doesn't appear to be wobbling. The ubiquitous floral decoration appears throughout. On the main panel, the plinth has the family name, "White", and on the obelisk section is a set of clasped hands. Below that is:
Phoebe
White,
Born July 11, 1833,
Died
Dec. 25, 1878.
Right above the family name is an epitaph:
Dear wife,
In Earth's thorny paths,
How long thy feet have trod
To find at last this peace-
ful rest,
Safe in the arms of God.
The second panel features a bouquet of flowers, including a rose and lilies of the valley, on the obelisk section, and below is another epitaph, "Gone from our home, but not from our hearts."
The third panel has a depiction of a Holy Bible, and below it is:
Phoebe
White,
Age 45 Y'rs
5 Mo's 14 D'ys.
Another epitaph is below:
Dear wife,
With a reverent hand
This to thy memory given,
While one by
One thy household band
God reunites in Heaven.
The fourth panel is similar to the second, but this time there are roses on the obelisk section. Below is the final epitaph, "Our dear mother, at rest."
