The Avro Canada CF100 Canuck was Canada's first all-weather fighter. Its main role was the defence of North America and NATO during the early years of the Cold War. At its height, there were 13 Squadrons flying CF100 Canucks, in addition to an Operational Training Unit.

By the end of the Cold War and into the 1970's the CF100 saw its role greatly modified to mainly an Electronic Warfare role. 414 Sqn at CFB North Bay, ON flew the last operational CF100 missions before the fleet was retired in Oct, 1982.

18752 served with No. 414 and 433 Squadrons. Became Instructional airframe A793. Taken on strength by Canadian Armed Forces on 1 February 1968, but retained RCAF serial number. In storage at CFD Mountainview, Ontario in 1980, still with RCAF serial number. Had 940 hours airframe time when stored. Was on display at CFB Ottawa, even after base closure in 1994. Now stored, partially disassembled at 16 Wing Borden Air Museum.
