McDonnell CF101 011 began service as USAF 57-289. It was acquired by the CF in 1970 as part of the Voodoo modernization program. It served with 425 Sqn, Bagotville, and then 409 Sqn Comox until being retired in 1983. It was then ferried to CFB Trenton Detachment Mountain View, ON and placed in storage.

In 1994 it was transferred to CFB Borden for preservation and display.

CF101 Voodoo

The Voodoo, built by McDonnell Douglas Corp.,
first flew on 29 September, 1954. It entered
service with the RCAF in 1961 when sixty-six
CF101's were acquired. The Voodoo saw service
with 409 AW (F) Hawk Sqn,. in Comox, B.C., 410
AW (OT) Cougar Sqn and 425 AW (F) Alouette Sqn
in Bagotville, QC and 416 AW (F) Sqn in Chatham,
NB.

The Voodoo is a supersonic all-weather fighter-
interceptor. It is powered by two Pratt and Whitney
J-57 gas turbine engines with afterburners.
